Kyle Busch won yet again on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit after dominating Sunday's proceedings at Infineon Raceway in California.
Busch - who won his fifth race of the season - started in 30th position before taking apart the field to lead for 78 laps of the 112.
The win continues Busch's current reign at the top of the Sprint Cup standings, and further solidifies his bid for a pace in the 12 Chase for the Sprint Cup - NASCAR's equivalent of a points-scoring playoff to see who wins the title - come September.
"I'm not happy unless I am winning, to be honest. I am a miserable person," Busch said after his win.
"But it means a lot to be able to run well and win. I'm a moody person, I guess. All of us drivers are when we're not having a good day. But when you have a good day and win races, it's kind of 'sun's up'."
Behind Busch finished David Gilliland, Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, Casey Mears, road course expert Juan Pablo Montoya, Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart.
There was again awful luck for Jamie McMurray and Kevin Harvick, who were involved in a monster crash on lap 105 which took both cars out of contention.
McMurray, who must feel he is one of NASCAR's unluckiest drivers, finished 18th while Harvick was credited with 30th place. The loss also sent Harvick tumbling out of the top 12. He lies just two points behind Matt Kenseth in 13th place.
Busch still leads NASCAR's Sprint Cup standings from Jeff Burton and Dale Earnhardt Jr, who finished 13th and 12th respectively.
Standings: 1 Kyle Busch, 2 Jeff Burton 103, 3 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 152, 4 Carl Edwards 258, 5 Jimmie Johnson 326, 6 Jeff Gordon 367, 7 Greg Biffle 389, 8 Denny Hamlin 400, 9 Kasey Kahne 450, 10, Clint Bowyer 484, 11 Tony Stewart 500, 12 Matt Kenseth 516, 13 Kevin Harvick 518.
