Swindon boss Maurice Malpas insists there is no truth in rumours linking Cheltenham striker Steve Gillespie with a move to the club.Gillespie scored 16 times for the Robins in an impressive season which has seen him heavily linked with a move away from Whaddon Road.
However, Malpas denied suggestions the former Bristol City forward could be heading for the County Ground.
He told the Swindon Advertiser: "I can categorically state that we have never even mentioned him (Gillespie) as a possibility.
"Firstly, I need to get other players in other positions before I even look at a striker and also I would imagine that Cheltenham would be asking for a fee, so that rules us out anyway."
Meanwhile, Cheltenham skipper John Finnigan requires a second operation on his heel but it is hoped he will be back in full training by mid-August.
