Defending champions Friedrichshafen needed only one set to qualify for the second round of the Champions League play-offs.

The Germans, who beat Dynamo Moscow 3-0 on home soil, took the opening set 25-18 in the Russian capital to secure their place in the final six.

Dynamo took the next three sets 25-23 25-18 25-22 but it was incidental.

They will face 2006 champions Sisley Treviso in the play-offs after the Italians whitewashed Portol Drac Palma Mallorca 25-18 26-24 26-24.

Panathinaikos won the opening set in Athens to secure their passage through to the next round at the expense of Knack Randstad Roeselare.

The Belgians went on to win the second leg 21-25 25-20 18-25 25-22 15-10.

The Greeks now face Copra Piacenza edged out Italian rivals Lannutti Cuneo 23-25 25-21 25-21 25-20 to complete a 6-3 aggregate victory.

Dinamo Kazan won the second set against the Poles of Jastrzebski Wegiel to progress, the Russians losing 25-16 17-25 25-22 19-25 15-12 but going through 5-3 on aggregate.

Cannes, whose 3-2 victory over Paris on Tuesday completed a 6-3 aggregate success, are their opponents in the next phase.

First legs - 4,5,6 March

Second legs - 11, 12, 13 March

The Final Four will be played in Lodz on March 29-30 and Skra Bechatów have directly qualified.
