Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy has put pen-to-paper on a new contract at the Emirates Stadium, the club announced on their website.
The 22-year-old left-sided defender had verbally agreed to sign an extension to his existing deal at the end of the Premier League season in May.
And he has now formally committed his future to the Gunners.
"Arsenal is delighted to announce that Gael Clichy has signed a new long-term contract," the club said. "Since joining from Cannes in August 2003, Clichy has become a first team regular, and has now made 146 appearances for the club.
"Gael's performances last season also earned him great acknowledgement from his fellow professionals, as he was voted into the PFA Team of the Year.
"Everyone at the club is looking forward to Gael's continued contribution in the forthcoming years."
Clichy failed to make the France squad for Euro 2008 and first-choice Bleus left-back Eric Abidal - who had a disappointing season with Barcelona - was dismissed early in their 2-0 group stage defeat to Italy, which sent them crashing out of the competition.

Well done Clich, but for the momentary lack of concentration in the game at Birmigham last season, that led to that penalty, your season was top draw, 9 out 10, if I am asked to award you marks.
Hopefully,if we can get Nasri and Arshavin of Russia, we shall tidy up next season's title by end of March 2009. I am happy France and Holland are out so that our boys- Gallas and Van Persie can have a deserved rest.
I hope Arsene will as usual identify a potential Arsenal player by the time he finishes at Basle. I hope he gets Arshavin.
Agree with all of you. Great to see some loyalty and commitment and Clichy is a top top player. I have a sneaky feeling we're gonna be awesome next season. Our best players want to stay which says a lot about their confidence in the current crop of players. Go on you Gunners.
van.persie back to best and clichy showing loyalty...shame on you flamini..
When the Cashley Cole saga was running, I never worried that he was going, because Clichy was an obvious replacement, and in my eyes, he's a better player than Cole now. The player is one of commitment and honesty, something half the prem league players know nothing about. So glad he is staying, a true Arsenal hero.
France should've chosen Clichy instead of Abidal n now they've crashed n burned!!!
Clichy congratulations, I knew you had potential when i saw you play a few years ago in the Carling Cup, and you have really fulfilled that and done more. You are a wonderful contributor to Arsenal FC and I hope that you may see out your entire career at our wonderful club. Just shows that some footballers still have brains.
WEll done clichy! at least he knows the form of commitment unknown to other players. (flamini ronaldo) arsenal only lost the league by 4 points last season. and we were missing, sagna, rosicky, van persie and eduardo i think them combined would have been worth a lot more than 4 points! bring on 2008-2009 i say!
Well done Gael, this proves that you,re an honest and genuine Arsenal Player, not like most footballers worldwide who decide to move just for the money. Flamini doesn't know what he,missing out on seeing as AC Milan will not playing in the champs league next season. But i know someone who will!! Vive Gael Clichy!!!!!!!! Beat left back in the premiership.
Yet ANOTHER Arsenal player that was supposedly moving abroard!
Well, that should open up a can of "Shut the hell up" on the media but, guess what, it won't!!!
So bored of all the tabloid junk being paraded around as truth. When the press cannot be trusted to speak the truth, where are you supposed to get your information from?
