ROME (AFP) - AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani claimed Friday that Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is the only player they are trying to buy, despite the club being linked with a number of other names.
Milan have been linked with Samuel Eto'o, who has been told he can leave Barcelona by new coach Josep Guardiola, and Galliani has admitted their interest in Chelsea's Didier Drogba.
However Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport that Adebayor, a Togo international, remains their only real objective, despite the Gunners already rejecting a first offer.
"We are only in line for one transfer, that of Adebayor. There won't be any approach for Drogba or Eto'o," said Galliani.
"We are talking only with Arsenal. At the moment the situation is this; either Adebayor comes or he doesn't. Either way I'm certain we can compete for the title.
"The player has a contract and for now the move is over. Arsenal have said no, but that doesn't mean we're out of the running. We've been doing everything we can to reopen negotiations. At the moment though I have a letter from Arsenal that says they are not ready to negotiate."
Galliani said regarding Eto'o: "... he is valued too highly by Barcelona and he is asking for too high a wage. Too much money. We can't go above a certain price. We would also like Drogba, but he is not for sale."
The Milan vice-president added that the club would make no attempt to bring either Adrian Mutu or Adriano Cassano to the San Siro.
"He (Mutu) is a second striker and we already have Pato. As for Cassano it is absolutely not true because he's also a second striker."
The Romania forward, who scored 17 goals for Fiorentina in 2007-08, is considering a new contract offer since his team were eliminated from Euro 2008.
Mutu has regularly stated his desire to remain in Florence and the club is optimistic that the 29 year-old will give the club a boost before the start their Champions League qualification matches.

Abedayor isnt going to do well at the San Siro. Milan should instead go for
Tomas Rosicky or Robin van Persie. They are much better.
Why would Adebayor want to go to Milan when they are not in the Champions league. Flamini made that mistake (albeit for more money) but they may not even qualify for a CL spot in the coming season either, so Ade should stay where he is. Too many players tout themselves around as soon as they have a good season. Same old problem , too much money in the game, too many thinking they are bigger than the clubs they play for, and too many egos.
i think its time Arsenal reviews their wage structure,im not blaming them that its too low but this guys are been enticed with big money and its not doing any good for the progress of the club
Demola
Milan Leave of Ade to Arsenal and play with your kaka or pato, since you have already stolen Flamini from Arsenal what more do you want.
