Adams pleased with Albion progress

Fri 18 Jul, 01:00 PM

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Micky Adams feels his side are making good progress following two pre-season friendly wins in a week. The Seagulls followed up a competitive 4-2 victory over Bognor Regis with a 2-0 success over Burgess Hill and Adams is satisfied they are heading in the right direction ahead of the League One season.

"These two games have shown me we have got a strong squad and that players are listening and accepting the ideas we are trying to put forward," said Adams.

"The fitness levels are getting better and not only are they applying themselves on the training ground, but we are also seeing that application in games and that is very pleasing.

"I would not say we are sharp yet but we are doing the miles and in terms of application they are spot on."

Striker Glenn Murray is doubtful for Saturday's trip to Lewes after picking up a groin problem against Burgess Hill, but goalkeeper Michel Kuipers could return after a slight thigh injury.
