FA Cup finalists Cardiff City have offered veteran striker Robbie Fowler a new contract after an injury-plagued first season at Ninian ParkThe former England international joined the Bluebirds on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, but saw his season wrecked by a hip injury.
Fowler is now back to full fitness and has been offered the chance to aid Cardiff's push for promotion from the Championship next season.
A pay-as-you-play deal has been mooted for the 33-year-old and Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed an offer has been put to the forward's agent.
"Dave Jones and I have talked through options, including players he wants to bring in," Ridsdale told the Western Mail.
"We also discussed Robbie Fowler and, together, we came up with what we believe is a good and fair offer.
"That will be sent to Robbie's agent today."
