The two remaining Spanish sides were paired with the two remaining German sides after the Champions League draw for the semi-finals stage was held in Vienna.

Cuidad Real will host HSV Hamburg in the first leg of the last four on either April 5 or 6, with the return leg scheduled for one week later.

Defending champions THW Kiel will host Barcelona in the first leg of the second semi-final.

"We wanted to play against Barcelona," said Kiel's Sabine Holdorf. "The difficulty is that we will play the first match at home."

"We played four times against them and we always played the first at home. It will be interesting that Barcelona have two players who used to play for us. Xepkin and Lozano are heroes in Kiel and they will play on home court."

In the women's event Zvezda Zvenigorod were drawn against group one victors Gyri Audi ETO, while HC "Lada Togliatti" were set to face group two winners Hypo Niederösterreich.

The first legs will be held on April 19-20 with the return dates set for April 26-27.
