Crewe Alexandra first-team coach Steve Holland has admitted he expects goalkeeper Owain fon Williams to snub a new contract.First-choice keeper Ben Williams has already turned down a new deal, but Holland had been hoping Wales Under-21 stopper fon Williams would accept a new deal to become the club's new number one.
But he told the club's official website: "We have offered Owain the number one spot and we genuinely believed that he would be excited by the prospect of playing regular football at the age of 21 but we have not had a response from him.
"We have verbally spoken to Owain and written to him to try and set up another meeting with him and his advisor, but as yet the communication has been one way. We have not heard anything from him and perhaps that means he will be looking to moving on this summer.
"Maybe his advisor thinks he is better off somewhere else and if that is the case then it is something we will have to rectify as soon as possible. We have not totally ruled out Owain wanting to stay with us, but it takes both parties to create a meeting."
The Railwaymen would be entitled to compensation for the promising Welsh stopper due to him being under the age of 24.
