MK Dons have announced five players will not be offered contract extensions after their deals expire at the end of this season.Striker Drewe Broughton and defenders Matt Carbon, Sam Collins, Gareth Edds and Kieron Murphy have all been made available for free transfers as manager Paul Ince continues his summer clear out in preparation for life in League One next season.
Edds, who has been at the club since signing from Bradford City in 2004 and will be best remembered for his late goal against Tranmere in the 2004/5 season which kept Dons in League One, was singled out for praise by the club's chairman Pete Winkelman.
He told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank all the players for their work with the club, particularly Gareth Edds after four years of service and some unforgettable moments.
"While Drewe and Matt have only been with us for a year, their respective efforts both on and off the pitch have contributed a great deal to what has been an historic season for the club.
"I wish them all the very best of luck with their future careers."
