Valencia have given their backing to underfire coach Ronald Koeman after poor run of results in La Liga. The Dutch boss, who only took charge of the Primera Liga side last November, has come under increasing pressure despite leading the club to the Copa del Rey title on Wednesday.
Successive defeats in their last three games against Real Mallorca, Real Murcia and Racing Santander have left Valencia in 15th spot in La Liga, only five points above the drop zone.
But the club confirmed in a statement on their official website, that it had no intention of dismissing Koeman.
The statement read: "Valencia Football Club would like to declare, in respect to the different rumours that have arisen in the past few days, that the coach of the first team is Ronald Koeman, who has a contract for this season and two more; that in no way has it planned to offer a contract to another coach; and that it is even much less true that there is a contract already signed with someone or that it is negotiating with anyone else."
