Former Southampton manager Graeme Souness has reiterated that he is not interested in a possible takeover of St Mary's Stadium. The former Saints boss, who weighed up an investment in the south-coast club last year, has been linked with another takeover bid but insists the reports are wide of the mark.

Speaking after leading a Scotland Legends side against England in the Alan Ball Memorial Cup at St Mary's, Souness told Saints' official website: "A year or so ago I was interested with a friend of mine and we made a bid for Wolves.

"Southampton was one of the clubs we spoke about then, but there is nothing in the recent rumours."
