Watford chairman Graham Simpson has insisted manager Aidy Boothroyd will not be leaving the club, amid reports he is set to be sacked. The Hornets missed out on a trip to Wembley for the Championship play-off final after a 6-1 aggregate defeat to Hull in the semi-final.
But following a meeting with Boothroyd on Thursday, Simpson told the club's official website: "We're all disappointed at losing out to Hull - but it just wasn't to be.
"Many fans have asked me if Aidy would be leaving us, and the simple answer is, why would he when he has the board's full support? Unlike many clubs we believe in continuity.
"It's going to be a new beginning for Aidy and the team and it will be a new style of play."
