Blues make non-league striker bid

Chester City owner Stephen Vaughan has confirmed the club have tabled an official bid for Vauxhall Motors striker Paul Taylor.The Blues have been monitoring the 22-year-old, who scored 18 goals this season, for some time now and Vaughan is hopeful of signing a potent goalscorer this season.

"We've tabled a bid for Paul Taylor and I've spoken to the Vauxhall Motors' secretary, chairman, and their manager, Carl Macauley," Vaughan told the Chester Evening Leader.

"We feel we've submitted a fair bid and we're hoping to receive a positive response very soon."

Meanwhile, boss Simon Davies has revealed Kevin Sandwith has rejected the offer of a new one-year deal.
