Jeff Whitley could make a return to Wrexham as he continues to look for a club since being released by Cardiff at the end of last season.Whitley featured for the Dragons in 11 games towards the end of the last campaign during a loan spell and played a leading role in keeping the club in League Two.
"It's only when you are not in the game that you realise just how much you miss it," the 28-year-old told the club's official website.
"I really enjoyed being back at Wrexham last season and I was delighted that it eventually turned out well for the club. The people here showed their faith in me, so I would be more than happy to come back and help out once again."
Whitley will train with Brian Little's side this week while the manager assesses his fitness, but the former Manchester City and Sunderland man believes he can help revive the side's fortunes.
"It's such a shame that after last year's heartache the club is once again in the relegation mire, but I'm sure that it can be turned around," he added.
