Ali Carter, the most consistent player in Championship League Snooker who had played in all seven groups, showed real signs of fatique after his superb run to the final of the recent World Championship and finished bottom of the group.

King now joins Ryan Day, Ken Doherty, Anthony Hamilton, Shaun Murphy, Joe Perry and Mark Selby for Wednesday's action which will decide who secures a place in the lucrative Premier Leaguem which starts in September.
