Darlington manager Dave Penney has recalled midfielder Neil Wainwright from his loan spell at Mansfield to help ease his injury crisis.Penney's squad has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks and that has hampered the club's promotion push.

Wainwright, 30, joined the struggling Stags at the end of last month and has made five appearances for Paul Holland's side.

"I'm disappointed that Darlington have recalled Neil but we can't do anything about it as there was a clause in the deal stating that Darlington could recall him," said Holland.

"It's a shame he has to return to his parent club. I wish him well."
