Millers stunned by Rowe hat-trick

Wed 13 Feb, 12:45 AM

A Tommy Rowe hat-trick gave an inspired Stockport side a 4-1 win at Rotherham to put a dent in the Millers' automatic promotion ambitions.Rowe got his first in the ninth minute, glancing home an Anthony Pilkington cross.

Rotherham equalised in the 37th minute when Mark Hudson netted from close range and could have had a second when Jim McNulty cleared off the line from Chris O'Grady just before the break.

Rowe got his second in the 49th minute with a header from Liam Dickinson's cross.

Six minutes later Rowe set up County's third. A delicate chip over the Rotherham defence left the home side flatfooted and Pilkington took full advantage with a close-range shot past Andy Warrington.

Rowe completed his hat-trick eight minutes later when Rotherham failed to deal with a left-wing corner and Rowe lashed the ball home.
