Scotland A ran in four tries to book their team a place in the Barclays Churchill Cup final with a 27-24 victory over Argentina Pumas in Kingston, Ontario.

Winger Andrew Turnbull scored the first points when he touched down after 16 minutes, with Rob Dewey adding a second try nine minutes later. David Blair converted after hitting the woodwork with his earlier attempt.

The Pumas hit back with a try of their own and added a second after the restart to go within two points of the Scots.

Jim Thompson swung the momentum back in Scotland's favour with a superb score from 40 yards out, with Gordon Ross slotting the extras.

Colin Gregor then scored another try chose to take the game into his own hands and burst out from behind the ruck to dart over the line but the match ended with the Pumas taking advantage of some slack defence to power over the line and end within three points of their opponents.

Head coach Rob Moffat, said: "First and foremost it was a good win. I thought we played some good rugby and scored four good tries."

Man of the Match Rob Dewey added: "It was a pretty good performance in the first half, but we let it slip away a bit when Argentina came back into the game. The same happened against Canada so it's something we're going to have to rectify for the final."

Elsewhere Ireland A crushed the USA 46-9.
