The men's grasscourt tournament, which started in 1995, has declined in popularity over the last few years and will no longer feature on the ATP Tour after this season.

The WTA Eastbourne event, meanwhile, has improved its field, with world number one Justine Henin beating then defending Wimbledon champion Amelie Mauresmo in last year's final.

From 2009, Eastbourne will host a new combined men's and women's event in the lead-up to the Wimbledon Championships.
