LONDON (Reuters) - Scotland coach Frank Hadden on Wednesday named uncapped trio Ben Cairns, Thom Evans and Moray Low in his squad to tour Argentina in June.
Edinburgh centre Cairns and Glasgow duo Evans (wing) and Low (prop) have all performed well for Scotland's A team and will press for places in the two tests in Rosario on June 7 and Buenos Aires on June 14.
Hadden, who announced 25 names with two backs and three forwards to be added later, told the Scottish Rugby Union Website (www.scottishrugby.org): "I'm delighted that the bulk of this squad will be home-based players, which is a reflection on the recent form of both of our professional teams and the quality of the development work which has gone on in our country over a number of years."
Argentina knocked Scotland out of the World Cup at the quarter-final stage last year and Hadden added: "We are fully aware of the size of the challenge but it's one we're looking forward to.
"Argentina have made enormous progress over the last 10 years and thoroughly deserved to be ranked third best side in the world.
"We ran them close in the quarter-final of the World Cup and we're fully committed to reversing that result in June."
Sean Lamont, Jason White, Jim Hamilton, Scott Lawson and Ross Rennie were unavailable due to injury.
