LONDON (Reuters) - England captain Phil Vickery is likely to be out of action for eight weeks because of a torn knee ligament, his club Wasps said on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old prop was injured during the Premiership clash with Sale Sharks on Tuesday and a scan showed a torn medial collateral ligament of his right knee.

"Vickery will begin an intensive rehabilitation programme immediately, with a full recovery expected to take approximately eight weeks," said the club's Web site (www.wasps.co.uk).

He is expected to miss England's tour to New Zealand in June.
