Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes Luiz Felipe Scolari is the right man to bring silverware back to Stamford Bridge.
Scolari, who coached Brazil to World Cup glory in 2002, takes charge of his first training session as Chelsea boss on Monday after leaving his role as Portugal boss following Euro 2008.
And Cech feels his new manager will install a winning mentality at Stamford Bridge after a trophyless season last year.
The 2007/08 campaign was the first Chelsea have ended empty-handed in four years, but Cech is confident Scolari will bring back the glory days.
"Mr Scolari is a World Cup winner and everywhere he goes he has success every time, so I hope he can bring this to Chelsea," Cech told Sky Sports News.
"There is the quality in the squad and, seeing the quality of the manager and the team he is bringing in, I am really sure that we will challenge for all the titles again."
Cech is also eager for Chelsea to keep hold of Frank Lampard, who is a target of Inter Milan, and admits the midfielder would be a major loss.
"It is always difficult to replace someone who scores more than 20 goals a season from midfield for four years in a row," added Cech.
"He (Lampard) is still negotiating so hopefully that goes well because you always welcome players with that sort of quality. He has been a key player for Chelsea since he joined."
Meanwhile, Cech is keen for Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo - who is at the centre of this summer's biggest transfer saga as Real Madrid pursue his services - to stay in the Premier League.
"He was the best player last season because everything he did was perfect," Cech continued.
"Everyone is speaking about him leaving. I hope that everyone stays and the league remains the same."

I appreciate Cech comment
hey lawrencemcneela,
If you don't know about football do not talk, Scolari apart from 02 WC, before he won with Gremio Copa Libertadores, 2 times with diferent teams, so just because you were born yesterday or in 02 doesn't mean taht Scolari is bad.
Cech may be a great goalie, but his choice of head gear leaves much to be desired, and probably accounts for his not being invited to attend Royal Ascot this year. That said, do you think it is wise to accept the word of such a style-leper when it comes to Chelsea's choice of new manager?
Oh, and one other question: who do you think will replace Scolari after Christmas, given the extreme difficulty they will face in clawing their way back from the bottom half of the table?
Imagine a season where Man Utd sack Ferguson and then three days later they have to play a full strength Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge with an injury hit side and then suffer a dubious sending off and go on to lose 0-2.
Later on in the season they lose Ferdinand for two months. During January they have to cope with three of their major players being away in another competition. Vidic only plays half of all league games because of injury all season. In addition they have to do without Van der Sar for a few games. Despite all this, they manage to get to two points of the title winners and lose the champions league final by a penalty.
TruBlu of Morden.
In reality, only Chelsea would have the strength to go this far in a season. Man Utd are just not as durable as Chelsea. Yes they are a better watch, but if both teams went without major injuries to major players all season Man Utd would get found out.
To say that Man. Utd are the best team in the world is hilarious. They only won both titles because of Chelseas misfortune with injuries not on they're own merits.
COME ON chelsea fc
rossghwv. You say Chelsea are a second rate team, is that the second rate team that finished 2 points behind united and lost on penalties in the champs league final. Is that the same 2nd rate team that had to go without Drogba, Essien, Mikel and Kalou for over 6 games due to the ACN. The same second rate team, that suffered injuries to key players like Cech, Terry, Carvalho? Obviously your football knowledge is fairly limited with regard to the transfer market as well. 200 mill for Ron. plus players, you live in a sad and deluded world mate. You won two trophies because of 1 player. Take away the 40+ goals and numerous assists from Ronaldo and where would you have been??? I don't think he'll be doing the same next year. Thats if he stays....
Cech's a good goalkeeper. I am saying this as a Manchester United fan. Cech hasn't played very good during the euros so that might demotivate him. Thank God.

Not being one to say I told you so but I told you so. I said months ago that Ronaldo will stay at United and it turns out he is staying. Real Madrid could not afford the 200 million plus Sneidjer and Robino. To rub salt in the wound Man Utd are buying Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for a steal at 18 million, making the worlds best team even stronger. We can now afford about 15 serious injuries and still lift the Premiership and Champions League. I am so pleased we put Real Madrid in their place.
Kaka wouldn't play for a second rate team like Chelsea. he wanted to come to Old Trafford but we said it would be on the understanding that he spent most of his time on the bench. He cannot be guaranteed a place in our first team because we already have 15 of the worlds best players. Including the best Argentine player on the planet , Tevez. Looks like we will win everything again.
Scolari is an ace manager, just look at his record. Beaten twice by Greece at Euro 2004, couldnt work out how to beat them having experienced playing against them just a fortnight before...tactical genius. At home as well.
Then, WC, semi-finalists more by luck than judgement, managing a draw against a woeful 10-man England team.
Then Euro 2008, arguably the best team out there & with the best player in the world. Manages to win 2, lose 2. Loses to a dire Germany with an awful defence. Manages to make Ronaldo look over-rated.
Oh, and he won the WC with a Brazil side including Ronaldo, Ronaldinho & Rivaldo. Well, that must have been difficult!!
hehehe, now cech says scolari will come with winning mentality to chelsea, why this rubbish statement?
mourinho was the people's man, charismatic and strong media presentation. believe me ,the sacking of Avram Grant will haunt chelski, inshalah!
if we consider the success ratio: number of matches coached by any former chelski manager ,Grant's stands on good foot.
for god's sake why did chelski treat this isreali like this ?
no silverware for them next season,Man U & Liverpool will be the team to beat!
Scolari will see what we call coaching tutorials at chelsea. he might be called world class coach but here in Chelski, no one is above the law.Petr cech is just trying to secure his position after the flop he did at last euro08. frankly speaking, cech is so good coz of Calvalho and Terry and not forgetting A.Cole and Essien.
Scolari welcome to the show...
It'll be a real mixture of emotions for a Chelsea fan like me if Scolari beats Mourinho in Europe. Mourinho was undoubtedly the best manager Chelsea ever had.
Cech: That was a good speech. One bad tournament does not a perennial flop make. In my eyes, Cech is still the best.
Thats the best goal keeper in the world speaking. What a wonderful speach.Kudos man.
What impresses me most is his plea for C'Ronaldo to still remain with UTD.Thats the spirit of sportsmanship.
Send this message across to C'Ronaldo. He should remain @ UTD despite the monster tag by Madrid.
Am a dye hard BLUE fan but i enjoys UTD alot,so let C'Ronaldo stay & let the competition {PL & CL}continue between the "SUPER TWO"
NO VICTOR,NO VANQUISH.
BLUES FOR EVER!!!!!!!!
Yea i guess Cech is right about Scolari coming to the Bridge.Hope he keeps Shawn Wright Phillips because he is good just like how Lampard has to stay.Im a chelsea supporter and i know Big Phil will bring silverware to the Bridge.
