Eurosport - Mon, 07 Jul 13:09:00 2008

Olivier Kapo's agent Willie McKay has hinted that the Birmingham winger could be on his way to Wigan.

FOOTBALL Birmingham City Olivier Kapo - 0

Latics boss Steve Bruce brought the 27-year-old to England and now wants to sign him for a second time, according to the player's representative.

McKay told the Daily Star on Sunday: "Steve Bruce is a big admirer of Olivier and would like to bring him to Wigan, while Marseille hope they can take him back to France.

"I believe Wigan will offer some players in an exchange deal."

Kapo angered Birmingham after reporting late to pre-season training and the Frenchman is understood to be keen on returning to the Premier League following the Blues' relegation.

  1. At the end of the day Kapo has made it quite clear that he's not interested in being at Blues by turning up to pre-season late (we have hand surgeons in this country Mr Kapo), so if he wants to leave and we can get cash from the sale then Brucie show us the money. It is however a little concerning as to whether we will have many options in midfield in the coming season. I think Alex needs to pull his finger out and start signing a few players, everyone knows that pre season is the best time to buy. Not only are midfielders required, a couple of defenders to support Ridgwell would be nice as well as cover for Taylor between the posts. If we can keep hold of McFadden and partner him with Jerome (who has to shine this season) we should be OK up front, who knows Alex may be able to perform miracles with O'Conner as well.

All in all Blues should make money where they can but not at the expense of getting back into the Premiership at the first time of asking.

  2. So, first Mcfadden's agent decided to stir things up, next up is Kapo; but this time I think its for real.
Kapo is a great player, and i think that his talent is possibly too great for Blues to keep. If Wigan offer the right exchange, whether it be money or players, it means that McLeish can focus on buying the right creaive midfielder for Blues. My only worry is that Blues will lack wide men if Kapo does leave.
De Ridder has gone; Zarate has too; McFadden rumoured; Kapo possibly; and even Larsson, who is a great crosser, may too, go.
That leaves McSheffery on the left flank, and who on the right?!?!

Personally, I think that if a player doesn't turn up to pre-season on time, this is a clear indication about where they want to be. I wish Kapo luck,

    but, surely

he can do better than WIGAN?!?!
