Crewe academy graduate James Bailey has agreed a new one-year deal with the club much to the delight of the club's manager Steve Holland.The midfielder, who can also play at right-back, made two substitute appearances for the Alex this season and Holland has encouraged the youngster to now go on and add to them.
Holland told the club's official website: "We are delighted that James has signed a new contract. He has been given another year and we will review it again in relation to his progress.
"We are looking to slim down the first-team squad but it is important that we have a little development group under that which James will fall into.
"He has made progress this year and now it is up to him to go on again and compete for a place in the squad."
