Rochdale's latest signing Jon Shaw is delighted to have joined what he hopes will be a promotion-chasing side during the 2008/09 campaign.The striker arrived at Spotland from Halifax on a two-year deal after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a good season in a struggling Halifax side, scoring 20 goals in 38 starts and adding to his England C honours.

He told the club's official website: "I can tell you that this club hasn't had to do the hard sell on me after the performances last year and nearly getting promoted.

"They had a fantastic season and it is great for me to come to a club that is looking to get promotion to division one, Its a great boost for myself and hopefully I can come in and do myself and the Conference proud.

"I am looking forward to a season of success."
