Adam Birchall stung his former club Mansfield with an equaliser as a 68th-minute triple substitution helped Barnet earn a 2-2 away draw.Mickey Boulding's 22nd goal of the season, after he rounded keeper Lee Harrison on 14 minutes, was the difference between the sides in the first half.
And when Matty Hamshaw lobbed Harrison from 15 yards on 55 minutes, it seemed the shot-shy Bees were buried.
Stags striker Jefferson Louis had two great chances to seal the win with close range headers on 60 and 66 minutes, but the first went wide as he stretched full-length to reach it and the second saw Harrison superbly turn the ball onto his post.
Home keeper Carl Muggleton had only had one real save to make before the changes, keeping out an Albert Adomah volley on 54 minutes.
But the Bees threw on Birchall, Jason Puncheon and Anthony Thomas on 68 minutes and within two minutes Thomas had buried a low 20-yard shot.
And after 77 minutes Puncheon's long-range free-kick came back off a post and Birchall was quickest to react to sweep home the loose ball.
