Coppell: Royals are not safe yet

Sat 05 Apr, 03:00 PM

Reading boss Steve Coppell insists his 15th-placed side have not assured themselves of Premier League football next season just yet. With six games remaining the Royals are six points above Bolton in the last relegation place ahead of Saturday's clash at Newcastle, and Coppell is urging his side not to get complacent.

"I don't want anybody to think our cushion is sufficient, because it isn't," he told the club's official website.

"I think we've go momentum but we can play better. At this stage, it's all about points. If you get points, you're happy.

"We've got some distance to go, from that perspective. I don't want to see any signs of relaxing."
