Slade set to rebuild in the summer

Sun 04 May, 05:15 PM

Yeovil boss Russell Slade insisted his side can bounce back next season despite going down 3-2 against newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.Jaime Peters and Andy Kirk got on the scoresheet for the Glovers but it wasn't enough and Slade, who ironically is a Forest fan, is now looking towards next season.

"If we had managed to keep it at 2-1 at half-time I'm confident we could have got something out of it," said Slade.

"I'm disappointed we conceded possession in the wrong areas of the field - it's about breeding good habits, not bad ones but I'm pleased for Colin and for Forest. We would, of course, love to be in their situation and came close to it last year. We haven't been able to mount a challenge this season but I'm confident we will come strong again next season.

"It's quite nice that I've been able to book my summer holidays and not worry about the play-offs - that's something I haven't been able to do for a while.

"We'll take stock over the summer and hopefully come back next season even stronger and look to mount a challenge."
