Gannon: Good time to face Darlo

Thu 03 Apr, 10:00 PM

Stockport manager Jim Gannon believes his side will play Darlington at the perfect time when they clash at Edgeley Park on Saturday. The Quakers have won only one of their last seven games to surrender vital ground in the race for promotion.

Yet they still lie third in League Two, five points ahead of fifth-placed County who have two games in hand.

Gannon told the Stockport Express: "Saturday's will be another huge game for us and Darlington.

"Their recent run of form means that we can comfortably catch them now, but I have felt for a while now that there are still plenty of twists and turns left this season.

"Darlington kept a lot of clean sheets earlier in the season, but during the last six or seven games that record has eroded badly. Maybe it is a good time to be playing them."
