Derby new boy Liam Dickinson has spoken of his delight after leaving Stockport to join a "massive" club. The forward put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract at Pride Park on Tuesday in a deal that could land his former club a £1million windfall.
The 22-year-old - who was playing non-league football with Woodley Sports less than three years ago - has had a meteoric rise through the football structure and Dickinson insists he is not taking it all for granted.
He told the club's official website: "It was always going to be hard to leave.
"But to get an opportunity to play for a massive club like Derby in the Championship, a team that is hopefully going to be pushing to the Premiership next season is a great opportunity for myself and the family."
